Returning home from a trip
I find peace on my couch, in bed
in the assurance that vegetables can bought down the street
that they are an affordable cost
that I am not charged a higher price
for being a foreigner

Each day I am reminded that this gift
of home where I find peace
is not something everyone has
watching a man cry in Iran
hearing a woman cry in Lebanon
war is hell and it steals everything

The UN condemned Iran's bombing
yet not the US/Israel for displacing
over 3 million people
in the largest city in the Middle East
What has the UN done for Garza
over the last years

We need United Humans
to demand
the universality
of home
so we can all afford
to find peace
